Installing Power BI Desktop

Power BI Desktop is the primary tool for creating reports. It is available for Windows only.

Installation Steps

Method 1: Microsoft Store (Recommended)

  1. Open Microsoft Store on your Windows PC
  2. Search for "Power BI Desktop"
  3. Click "Get" or "Install"
  4. Launch from Start Menu after installation
  5. Advantage: Auto-updates enabled

Method 2: Direct Download

  1. Go to https://powerbi.microsoft.com/downloads/
  2. Click "Download free" under Power BI Desktop
  3. Run the .exe installer
  4. Follow the setup wizard
  5. Launch Power BI Desktop
