Free Banking Exam Preparation 2026 — IBPS PO, SBI PO, Clerk Strategy

Banking exam structure (IBPS PO / SBI PO)

  • Prelims (Online): English Language (30Q, 20 min), Quantitative Aptitude (35Q, 20 min), Reasoning Ability (35Q, 20 min). Total: 100 questions in 1 hour.
  • Mains (Online): Reasoning & Computer Aptitude (45Q, 60 min), Data Analysis & Interpretation (35Q, 45 min), General/Economy/Banking Awareness (40Q, 35 min), English Language (35Q, 40 min). Total: 155 questions in 3 hours.
  • Interview: 100 marks. Tests communication, general awareness, banking knowledge, and situational judgment.

Section-wise preparation strategy

  • Quantitative Aptitude: number series, simplification, data interpretation (tables, charts, graphs), quadratic equations, arithmetic word problems. Aim for 25+ out of 35 in Prelims QA.
  • Reasoning: puzzles and seating arrangements (highest weightage in Mains), syllogisms, blood relations, direction sense, coding-decoding. Practise at least 10 puzzles daily.
  • English: reading comprehension, error detection, sentence improvement, para jumbles. Reading quality English content daily is the most efficient prep strategy.
  • General Awareness / Banking: current affairs (last 6 months), banking and financial awareness, RBI policies, government schemes.
  • Computer Aptitude: basic hardware/software, MS Office, networking basics, internet concepts, cybersecurity awareness.
